Yes. Your ChecKmeds NC pharmacist can help you find the medicine that works best and that has the lowest cost.

Are all pharmacists in North Carolina part of ChecKmeds NC?
No. Only pharmacists who took the ChecKmeds NC training course are part of ChecKmeds NC. Ask your pharmacist if s/he is part of ChecKmeds NC.

Can I use my regular pharmacy and still visit a ChecKmeds NC pharmacist too?
Yes. You do not need to change where you get your medicine.

What if my pharmacist isn't part of ChecKmeds NC?
You can still go to your regular pharmacist. The ChecKmeds NC pharmacist will just be giving you extra services.

Will I pay more if I use a ChecKmeds NC pharmacist?
No. There is no extra cost for the services.

Will my doctor know if any changes need to be made to my medicines?
Yes. If the ChecKmeds NC pharmacist thinks changes are needed, s/he will talk with your doctor, but only your doctor can change your prescription.

What if I can't find a ChecKmeds NC pharmacist near where I live?
Your regular pharmacist may be willing to be trained to be a ChecKmeds NC pharmacist. If not, then you can get the ChecKmeds NC service by phone.

What if someone who cares for me is the one who helps me with my medicines?
In such cases, services can be offered to your caregiver or other person involved with overseeing your health care needs.

ChecKmeds NC is a free service paid for by the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund.
